10 Ways On Getting Pregnant Fast

getting-pregnant

There are actually a host of reasons why women do not get pregnant. With the complexities of both the male and the female reproductive system, reasons for not conceiving are innumerable. But there are still ways toincrease your chances of getting pregnant.

Tip # 1. To get pregnant faster have sex three times a week.

Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. Couples often try to time everything perfectly for ovulation but do not have sex when they think they are not ovulating. It is true that sex that is not within the time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy. However, because women do not always ovulatewhen they think they will, having sex three times a week will help to a woman cover her bases, so to speak, and not miss an opportunity to get pregnant.

Tip # 2. To get pregnant faster use an ovulation prediction kit or fertility monitor.

Using an ovulation kit to predict when you are ovulating will improve your chances of getting pregnant. For many women charting or other methods of ovulationprediction are too confusing. Ovulation prediction kits work by reading LH surges prior to ovulation. They are relatively easy to use and are generally accurate for predicting ovulation. Fertility monitors, such as the Clear Blue Easy monitor, are also a worthwhile investment if you would like to get pregnant faster. Fertility monitors are similar to ovulation prediction kits in that they read changes in LH but they also read changes in other hormones and don’t require any guesswork for couples. They are easy to use and will tell you when the best time to get pregnant is.

Tip # 3. To get pregnant faster have sex before ovulation (not after).

Sometimes couples get confused about the best time to have sex in relationship to ovulation. You have a small window of time each month to get pregnant. After a woman ovulates the egg will survive approximately 24 hours. Sperm, on the other hand, will live for up to three to five days. This is why having sex two to three days before ovulation willincrease your chances of getting pregnant. Don’t wait until the day you ovulate to have sex. Your partner’s sperm will last longer than your egg and you don’t want to miss anopportunity by waiting.

Tip # 4. Don’t rely on the Calendar method for predicting ovulation.

A lot of couples have heard to have sex around day fourteen of your cycle. This is based on the calendar method and assumes that you have a regular 28-day cycle and ovulate mid-cycle. Although this is better than just picking an arbitrary day to have sex, it is not a veryaccurate way to predict when you ovulate. Many women do not ovulate on day fourteen and knowing precisely when you ovulate will help you time intercourse better. Ovulationprediction kits, looking at previous months bbt charts, or watching for signs of ovulation will help you to determine when you ovulate.

Tip # 5. If you want to get pregnant faster, don’t rely on fertility charting alone to predict ovulation.

Fertility Charting is great for tracking your cycle but it does have disadvantages. By the time you can see ovulation on a bbt chart, you have already ovulated. It is good to chart so you can track your cycles, see if you ovulate the same time each month, and also so you can look back on your cycle and see if you timed things right. But if this is your first cycle trying to get pregnant or if you are not ovulating at the same time each month, an ovulationprediction kit would be more helpful.

Tip # 6. Before you start trying to get pregnant see your doctor.

Make sure you are in good health and have had a regular check up from your OBGYN or medical provider. Untreated infections, sexually transmitted diseases, or poor health can affect your chances of getting pregnant. Its good to see a doctor as well as start taking prenatal vitamins prior to trying to conceive.

Tip # 7. When trying to get pregnant, don’t smoke, drink alcohol, or abuse drugs.

This may seem like common sense but many women do try to get pregnant while smoking, drinking or using drugs. Smoking, drugs, and alcohol can affect your fertility. It will also affect your unborn child. It is important to stop smoking or using drugs and alcohol before getting pregnant and not wait until you find out you are pregnant.

Tip # 8. To get pregnant faster have enjoyable sex.

Sometimes when couples are trying to conceive, sex becomes a job or function of reproduction and is not as enjoyable. Plan a romantic evening or try something different to spice things up. How you are feeling sexually may factor into your chances of getting pregnant. Some researchers believe that having an orgasm during sex increases your chances of getting pregnant. For women, the spasmic movements of orgasm will help pull the sperm into the uterus and for men a better orgasm may increase the man’s sperm count.

Tip # 9. Have sex in positions that keep sperm inside the vagina longer.

The missionary position is a good position to use when trying to get pregnant. Avoid positions where the woman is on top. Gravity will allow sperm to leak out with these positions. Also try placing a pillow under your hips to help tilt your pelvis and keep the sperm in longer. Don’t get up right after sex. Try to relax and allow the sperm to stay in the vagina as long as possible.

Tip # 10. There is no such thing as trying too hard to get pregnant.

Most couples get pregnant within a year of trying. If you have not gotten pregnant within a year consult your doctor for advice.

If you have tried everything to increase your chances of getting pregnant and found no success, don’t lose hope. Did you know that there are changes you can make in your life to solve fertility problems and increase your chances of getting pregnant, no matter how hard you’ve tried before?

Blood Test For Pregnancy – Confirming Your Pregnancy

bloodtest

The decision to have a baby is a monumental one. It’s not a decision that many people make without first taking into consideration a number of factors. Many families plan carefully to ensure that they are starting their family at the right time. Some of those factors include ensuring that you have maternity insurance on your healthcare plan, that you are financially able to care for a new baby, and that you are healthy enough to carry a baby and care for a child. Some families, of course, are surprised with a little bundle of joy earlier than they might have anticipated. Either way, when you suspect you are pregnant, you will need to take a test. From there, your doctor will confirm your pregnancy with a pregnancy blood test. The process is relatively simple.

Getting Pregnant

It might surprise you to know that not all women are aware of exactly how pregnancy occurs. Many assume that they can get pregnant at any time as long as they engage in unprotected sex. However, the window for fertility is actually very small each month. Women are only fertile for approximately 12 to 24 hours each month. However, sperm can live in the vaginal tract for as many as five days, which means you could get pregnant by having unprotected sex as many as five days prior to that 12 to 24 hour window. As long as there is sperm in the female body to meet the egg as it is released, fertilization can occur. Once fertilization occurs, it takes approximately one week for that fertilized egg to travel through the fallopian tubes and into a woman’s uterus. Once in the uterus, the egg will implant into the wall, cementing pregnancy. From this point forward, you will produce the hormone hCG, which is the pregnancy hormone. A few days to a week after implantation, hCG levels are typically high enough to show up on a home pregnancy test.

Pregnancy Test

Once you reach the day you miss your period, you will take a home pregnancy test. If this test shows up positive, you will then call your doctor. While some pregnancy tests are capable of detecting pregnancy as many as six days before your missed period, it is important that you do not take negative results as 100 percent accurate that early. Some women do not produce enough hCG to detect this early. Others ovulated later than originally thought and haven’t been pregnant long enough to detect at this point.

Pregnancy Blood Test

At your first doctor’s appointment, your obstetrician will ask you to provide a urine sample. She will use this sample to give you another home pregnancy test. This home pregnancy test is for the doctor’s records. She will then perform a pregnancy blood test to indicate pregnancy. Most doctors will send you to a lab to have this test performed. You will receive the results within a few days of having your blood drawn. The reason for this pregnancy blood test is to confirm your pregnancy 100 percent. It is not, however, the last time you will receive a pregnancy blood test during your pregnancy.

Other Blood Tests

Many of the blood tests offered during pregnancy are strictly optional, though some are not. Your doctor may ask you to provide blood to test your blood time, your Rh factor, and for any diseases. You will also be given the option to have a blood test at some point in your pregnancy to check your baby for problems such as Down’s Syndrome.

Your doctor will also use your blood tests to determine your iron level. If you have iron deficiencies, it can cause issues for your pregnancy. Your doctor uses this information to help you become as healthy as possible. Around the end of your second trimester and the beginning of your third trimester, your doctor will order a blood test performed to check your glucose levels. This test is performed approximately one hour after you drink a special beverage provided by your doctor. This test will determine whether or not you suffer from gestational diabetes.

There are a number of blood tests your doctor will ask if you’d like performed as well as a number she will require you perform. Most tests are designed to ensure that you are in the best possible health. However, some are designed to let you know whether or not your baby is as healthy as possible. Either way, the pregnancy blood test provided while you are pregnant are important to both your health and the health of your baby. If you have concerns about any of the blood tests your doctor offers, talk to her about your feelings.

Choosing A Perfect App For Health And Fitness

One of the multiple duties a smartphone can handle, is being a fitness coach of ours. All we have to do is equip it with the necessary apps. Meanwhile we must motivate ourselves to keep fit (however, if an app motivates us, it’s even better). Health & fitness mobile applications are usually divided according to the preferences of users. Some are devoted runners, some need motivation for a daily workout, some want healthy nutrition and need to keep track of calories. But what if we unite the things that our smart assistants do? Here is the picture of a unified mobile tool our devices can wield.

Exercise is a routine. The task of such application is to reduce the feeling of routine, motivate the user with feedback, and provide all the tips and information that might be required; and store it thereafter. For all the health-concerned, cycling fans, avid runners, yoga followers – a perfect health & fitness application can take on four major functions.

A Personal Coach
A highly customizable mobile coach should know everything that can be helpful to the user. These are libraries of exercises and workout programs for various muscles. A multitude of exercises should include instructions with pictures (and even streaming videos which look even better in a tablet-optimized application). Exercises can be categorized by body parts or types of sports equipment. Workouts can be either suggested by the coach, or built according to the user’s needs (e.g. losing weight) and physical state (e.g. beginner). The mobile coach has a calendar with scheduled exercises, and a timer. Every piece of data the smart coach gets from the user, allows to suggest the best training plan; as well it informs the user, what kinds of exercises lack in the workout. As an addition, there may be a real human voice to encourage for work; and a playlist made up of the music available on the device, to make exercises less monotonous.

A Diet Consultant
Create a personal diet consultant for the healthy eating habits of your users. An online-accessible food database can allow them to control their menu by calculating recommended daily calorie intake; suggest meals and recipes according to the user’s statistics and diet plan. Such apps are widely used for the weight-losing purposes. The user may add chosen meals to favorites, in order to reduce the time spent on noting the whole variety of food.

A GPS-Enabled Tracker
The app can be set to track body stats and measurements. Runners and cyclists (in fact, fans of any outdoor activities, which are all about movement) can use the tracker/pedometer to keep record of the route, view route suggestions, length and duration, pace and speed, and surely the calories burnt in the process. Thus the user can be informed of the achievements in keeping shape.

A Health Journal
As a part of the three previous functions, the user’s health journal has all the measurements logged and stored inside. This journal can be viewed anytime; the user may note the weekly goals, and share results in social networks (for example, if the user participates in a specialized community – or simply to share with friends).

Canadian Health Care We So Envy Lies In Ruins, Its Architect Admits

As this presidential campaign continues, the candidates’ comments about health care will continue to include stories of their own experiences and anecdotes of people across the country: the uninsured woman in Ohio, the diabetic in Detroit, the overworked doctor in Orlando, to name a few.

But no one will mention Claude Castonguay – perhaps not surprising because this statesman isn’t an American and hasn’t held office in over three decades.

Castonguay’s evolving view of Canadian health care, however, should weigh heavily on how the candidates think about the issue in this country.

Back in the 1960s, Castonguay chaired a Canadian government committee studying health reform and recommended that his home province of Quebec – then the largest and most affluent in the country – adopt government-administered health care, covering all citizens through tax levies.

The government followed his advice, leading to his modern-day moniker: “the father of Quebec medicare.” Even this title seems modest; Castonguay’s work triggered a domino effect across the country, until eventually his ideas were implemented from coast to coast.

Four decades later, as the chairman of a government committee reviewing Quebec health care this year, Castonguay concluded that the system is in “crisis.”

“We thought we could resolve the system’s problems by rationing services or injecting massive amounts of new money into it,” says Castonguay. But now he prescribes a radical overhaul: “We are proposing to give a greater role to the private sector so that people can exercise freedom of choice.”

Castonguay advocates contracting out services to the private sector, going so far as suggesting that public hospitals rent space during off-hours to entrepreneurial doctors. He supports co-pays for patients who want to see physicians. Castonguay, the man who championed public health insurance in Canada, now urges for the legalization of private health insurance.

In America, these ideas may not sound shocking. But in Canada, where the private sector has been shunned for decades, these are extraordinary views, especially coming from Castonguay. It’s as if John Maynard Keynes, resting on his British death bed in 1946, had declared that his faith in government interventionism was misplaced.

What would drive a man like Castonguay to reconsider his long-held beliefs? Try a health care system so overburdened that hundreds of thousands in need of medical attention wait for care, any care; a system where people in towns like Norwalk, Ontario, participate in lotteries to win appointments with the local family doctor.

Years ago, Canadians touted their health care system as the best in the world; today, Canadian health care stands in ruinous shape.

Sick with ovarian cancer, Sylvia de Vires, an Ontario woman afflicted with a 13-inch, fluid-filled tumor weighing 40 pounds, was unable to get timely care in Canada. She crossed the American border to Pontiac, Mich., where a surgeon removed the tumor, estimating she could not have lived longer than a few weeks more.

The Canadian government pays for U.S. medical care in some circumstances, but it declined to do so in de Vires’ case for a bureaucratically perfect, but inhumane, reason: She hadn’t properly filled out a form. At death’s door, de Vires should have done her paperwork better.

De Vires is far from unusual in seeking medical treatment in the U.S. Even Canadian government officials send patients across the border, increasingly looking to American medicine to deal with their overload of patients and chronic shortage of care.

Since the spring of 2006, Ontario’s government has sent at least 164 patients to New York and Michigan for neurosurgery emergencies – defined by the Globe and Mail newspaper as “broken necks, burst aneurysms and other types of bleeding in or around the brain.” Other provinces have followed Ontario’s example.

Canada isn’t the only country facing a government health care crisis. Britain’s system, once the postwar inspiration for many Western countries, is similarly plagued. Both countries trail the U.S. in five-year cancer survival rates, transplantation outcomes and other measures.

The problem is that government bureaucrats simply can’t centrally plan their way to better health care.

A typical example: The Ministry of Health declared that British patients should get ER care within four hours. The result? At some hospitals, seriously ill patients are kept in ambulances for hours so as not to run afoul of the regulation; at other hospitals, patients are admitted to inappropriate wards.

Declarations can’t solve staffing shortages and the other rationing of care that occurs in government-run systems.

Polls show Americans are desperately unhappy with their system and a government solution grows in popularity. Neither Sen. Obama nor Sen. McCain is explicitly pushing for single-payer health care, as the Canadian system is known in America.

“I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer health care program,” Obama said back in the 1990s. Last year, Obama told the New Yorker that “if you’re starting from scratch, then a single-payer system probably makes sense.”

As for the Republicans, simply criticizing Democratic health care proposals will not suffice – it’s not 1994 anymore. And, while McCain’s health care proposals hold promise of putting families in charge of their health care and perhaps even taming costs, McCain, at least so far, doesn’t seem terribly interested in discussing health care on the campaign trail.

However the candidates choose to proceed, Americans should know that one of the founding fathers of Canada’s government-run health care system has turned against his own creation. If Claude Castonguay is abandoning ship, why should Americans bother climbing on board?

Gratzer is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a physician licensed in both the U.S. and Canada, where he received his medical training. His newest book, “The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care,” is now available in paperback.

How Body Changes Occur During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a natural process that involves big changes in a woman’s body. It’s different for everyone. Some women have long, difficult, uncomfortable pregnancies that change their daily lives right from the start. Others have fairly easy pregnancies and their daily routines may not change until the last few weeks before delivery.

Pregnancy is a nine month journey for both you and your baby. During this time your own body will change, both internally and externally. Although a woman’s body was beautifully designed to give birth, this process may cause a woman some discomfort and impose some limitations. Usually, exercise and good nutrition can alleviate the minor discomfort of pregnancy.

Some women also may begin to feel a little nauseous, and her breasts may become more tender or may tingle somewhat.

By the end of the second month, the levels of progesterone and estrogen are increasing dramatically, which will generally lead to some pretty serious mood swings that start now and continue through her pregnancy.

During pregnancy, your hormones are changing. This may cause you to experience ups and downs. You may feel excited, tired, worried, or like you need to talk about everything that is happening to you.

A vaginal discharge occurs normally during pregnancy, because of hormonal changes. A yellow or cheesy white discharge that is accompanied by itching or burning is not normal and needs to be reported to you health care provider.

Folic acid supplements are recommended for women trying to conceive and during the first trimester of pregnancy. This is the time that the baby’s brain and nervous system are developing. Folic acid has been shown to reduce the chance of a baby being born with problems known as neural tube defects, such as spinal bifida.

Cardiac output increases approximately 40% during pregnancy, reaching its maximum at 20-24 week’s gestation and continuing at this level until term. The increase in output can be as much as1, 5L/min over the non pregnant level. Cardiac output is very sensitive to changes in body position. This sensitivity increases with lengthening gestation, presumably because the uterus impinges upon the inferior vena cava, thereby decreasing blood return to the heart.

Many pregnant women complain of dizziness and lightheadedness throughout their pregnancies. Fainting is rare but does happen even in some healthy pregnant women. There are many reasons for these symptoms. The growth of more blood vessels in early pregnancy, the pressure of the expanding uterus on blood vessels and the body’s increased need for food all can make a pregnant woman feel lightheaded and dizzy.

During your pregnancy, you might feel tired even after you’ve had a lot of sleep. Many women find they’re particularly exhausted in the first trimester. Don’t worry, this is normal! This is your body’s way of telling you that you need more rest.
Heat stress during exercise creates concern for two reasons. First, an increase in the mother’s core temperature (hyperthermia) can be harmful to the baby’s development. Second, loss of water in the mother (dehydration) can decrease the amount of blood available to the fetus and lead to increased risk of preterm contractions.

Acne will be another big concern for you during your pregnancy. No matter how bad they become, stay away from medications as they might affect the baby. Not all women have this problem and you may luck out and find that your skin clears up during pregnancy.

How Music Therapists Help Children With Autism

Music therapy works on the basis of the concept that any individual irrespective of age and ability has the potential to respond to music and sound, which in turn contributes remarkably to the improvements in their behavior and emotional well-being by managing stress, developing communication and enhancing memory. It makes use of the magic of singing and live music compositions to motivate people to take part in inspiring and natural musical activities. Trained music therapists use various tuned instruments or their voices to conduct creative and interactive musical sessions.

Several studies have shown that music therapy can have tremendous impact on children and teens with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It can contribute immensely in developing social behaviors, developing communication skills, improving focus and attention, easing stress and anxiety and improving body coordination. In many cases it has been found that autistic children and teens respond well to music at times when almost everything else fails to grab their attention. This makes the music an effective therapeutic technique in their treatment.

Let us discuss some of the aspects that help music therapists treat children with autism.

  • Some recent studies have shown that autistic children are capable of exhibiting a better level of social interaction during music therapy sessions than during play activities that are devoid of music. The children are also found to be more responsive to the therapist and more emotionally expressive during these music therapy gatherings.

  • Studies have shown that music therapy helps remarkably in improving the overall behavior in children with autism. Children suffering from inattentive behavior like aggression, restlessness, etc. has been noticed to spend hours in long music therapy sessions without difficulty. A considerable improvement is found in most of the children after these sessions.

  • Around thirty-percent of autistic children are non-verbal, and have trouble understanding verbal instructions. They also lack social awareness, which makes it extremely difficult for them to understand body languages. Expert music therapists combine music with actions to connect the auditory and motor sections of the brain that in turn helps in enhancing the understanding of verbal communication. Also, the combination of music with action along with vigorous and repetitive training helps in improving the brain paths required to speak.

  • Due to the incapability to push out provoking stimuli, autistic children are prone to higher levels of anxiety and stress than normal children. Studies have shown that children who are subjected to small music therapy sessions with rhythmic music exhibit reduced stress related behaviors. To ease out the stress and anxiety in children with autism the best is considered classical music or something with a steady rhythm owing to the consistency and predictability of the beat.

  • The most significant way music therapy helps autistic children is by engaging them in activities that they thoroughly enjoy. Autistic children find it extremely easy to engage in musical sessions, which do not seem to be any kind of work to them. They can probably be best reached out and stimulated by musical rhythms than anything else.
